The University of Kentucky Corporate Sustainability Award is based on four criteria: strategic vision on corporate sustainability performance, economic performance, environmental performance and societal performance.
- The corporate strategic vision should reflect the company’s commitment to sustainability. This includes sustainability goals, sustainability performance indicators or memberships in industry coalition groups aimed at promoting sustainability.
- Economic performance is based on financial performance, local market presence and indirect economic influence.
- Environmental performance is based on the extent to which the actions of the company in material usage, energy, water, biodiversity, by-products and waste, and compliance affect the environment.
- Societal performance is based on human rights, labor practices, product responsibility and social responsibility.
